REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR
THE STUDENT SCIENTIFIC SESSION AT TU-Varna 2026
For participation and evaluation of submitted student research papers
The SNS is open to pupils, students (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs), PhD students, and postgraduates within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and from countries within and outside Europe, regardless of the form of study.
Anyone wishing to participate in the SNS may register by submitting their full paper by 06.04.2026.
Registration of an author team for participation in SNS may be carried out only by a member of the respective author team.
The maximum number of co-authors per paper is three.
If there are five or fewer papers in a section, the respective section will be merged with another section in the same or a closely related professional field.
If there are more than twenty papers in a section, the organizers reserve the right to divide it into independent subsections within the same scientific field or thematic area. Participants will be distributed according to the content of their papers.
The time allocated for presentation and defense of the paper is 10 minutes, via presentation, poster, or model.
If the required template is not followed, the paper will not be accepted for participation.
If the author does not present the paper, it will not be published in the proceedings.
PhD students will present their work in the specified scientific sections but will be evaluated and ranked according to different criteria than Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
Pupils and international students will present their work in separate scientific sections and will receive additional information.
11th and 12th grade pupils achieving the highest results may use them when applying to TU-Varna.
Postgraduates will present their work in the “Postgraduate Section” and will receive additional information.

Students participating in the sections “Design” and “Visual Arts”, as well as students in sections formed due to organizational changes within the professional field “Industrial Design”, may present their work in the form of a creative project.
Projects in graphic design, product design, industrial design, interior design, urban design, visual communication, and other creative works within the scope of design, as well as visual arts objects, are accepted.
Participants are admitted to the session only with the creative project submitted during registration. Presenting a different project from the registered one is not allowed.
In addition to the creative project, participants must submit a short description (no more than one standard page) including: project goal and concept, materials and techniques used, relation to the scientific theme of the session.
Accompanying materials (photos, videos) are accepted up to 100 MB.

The maximum length of papers is ten standard pages, including illustrative material.
Submitted papers must be in .doc / .docx format.
References cited in the text must follow the provided format.
Abstract clearly presenting the essence of the paper – no more than 10 lines.
Keywords describing the essence of the paper – up to 10 words.
Each paper must be prepared independently or jointly with a scientific supervisor.
1.1. The scientific supervisor assists the author in preparing the paper.
The working language of the paper is Bulgarian. For international students, the working language is English.
Authors participating in the SNS declare that:
The respective work has been prepared personally for participation in SNS.
1.1 Submitted materials will be checked for plagiarism using methods determined by the organizers. The allowed similarity is up to 30%.
The paper has not been created with the help of other persons who are not explicitly listed as authors, except for the scientific supervisor.
All ideas or excerpts borrowed from other works must be cited in the references of the paper in accordance with Art. 24, para. 1, item 2 of the Bulgarian Copyright and Related Rights Act.
All papers that violate IV, item 3 of the “REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDENT SCIENTIFIC SESSION at TU-Varna 2026” will be removed from the current SNS and the authors will be prohibited from participating in future SNS events at TU-Varna.
The paper, in whole or in substantial parts, is not subject to third-party rights.
Reviewers will examine the submitted papers in advance and decide on their admission to the student session in accordance with the present regulations.
The review includes an evaluation and an opinion.
If necessary, the paper must be revised and resubmitted.
All participants who present their papers before the committee will receive promotional materials and certificates of participation.
Additional awards will be announced later.
